Date Night
Acrylic 24x36 Commitment to Growth, that is what I thought of after speaking with the Kreinbrings. They, like all of us have had challenges, but maybe the relationships that make it are those that just simply commit to the time and work that it takes to be successful. Their commitment was and still is Date Night. Every Tuesday is their night to recapture their relationship. Date Night is the opportunity to expand who they are, become better listeners, more accepting and most of all they learned how to do it together. With Barbs love of books and studying peoples behavior, I found a quote from Stephen Covey that I feel applies to both Mike and Barb. “Find your voice and help others find theirs.” This quote portrays both Mike and Barb’s efforts in their relationship and their personal growth. The second book is a reminder not only to the Kreinbrings but to me as well as a parent. While discussing this painting with my wife, I touched upon the Kreinbrings comments on the difficulties and passions of being a parent. My wife being the more level headed in this arena simply said a common phrase, “All you can do is give them roots and give them wings.” The phrase simply fit. Tranquility, it is the place everyone always dreams of, the lake home. This peaceful oasis allows us the time to gather our thoughts, wash away our troubles and replenish our spirits. It quietly reminds us that these challenges have expanded and made us stronger, wiser and hopefully more accepting.
